February 13, 2025

On Thursday, 13th February, students from our four Better Learners Better Workers primary schools within Maltby Learning Trust participated in a day all about space and science with Amazelab.

Throughout the day, our BLBW ambassadors engaged in three workshops:
🚀 Planet Fashion – Students were tasked with designing a space suit whilst considering functionality and materials. This session was very informative as they discussed engineering challenges and the significant costs associated with NASA’s space suits.
🧪 Chromatography – This session introduced students to chromatography and its real-world applications, including its use in everyday life and space. They then applied their learning creatively by designing and crafting their own planets using chromatography techniques.
✨ Space Constellations – Using marshmallows and cocktail sticks, students constructed models representing star constellations.
The event was a huge success, with students fully engaged in learning while having fun. A special thank you to Leonie at Amazelab for her continued support and to Maltby Grammar Business Hub for hosting us in their fantastic new facility.
