The Master and Mistress Cutler were delighted to support so many musical events in Sheffield over the weekend.

It was a joy for the Master Cutler to listen to the Dore Male Voice Choir’s Gala Concert at the All Saints Church on Ringinglow Road on Saturday 7th October.  The Choir sang a wide variety of Show and classical pieces and shared the spot light with Charlotte Kennedy, a young singer from the Royal College of Music, who also sang pieces from opera and musical theatre.

Also out and about on Saturday was the Mistress Cutler who attended the Steel City Choristers and St Mary’s Social Supermarket Community singers “Reasons to sing” event at St Mary’s Church Bramall Lane.  This was the culmination of a year-long collaboration between the Choir and community to reflect life and lived experiences from the community in song.

Finally, on Sunday the Master and Mistress hosted a concert in the Cutlers Hall by the Band of the Coldstream Guards which was well attended by the Coldstream Guards Association and helped develop links between the local military community and the region.  The Lord-Lieutenant was represented by Major Adrian Hunt DL and the High Sheriff, Dr Jaydip Ray DL, was also present from the Legal Service in York Minster. The Mayors and Lady Mayoresses from Barnsley and Rotherham enjoyed the music which covered pieces from The Mission, traditional folk tunes, Irving Berlin show tunes and several pieces written for the Band.  It finished with Sunset and the Regiments quick march Milanello.

Our thanks to all the organisers and performers for such excellent performances and making the weekend have such a feel good factor.  We will be tapping our feet all week!
