Last week, Better Learners Better Workers Ambassadors from Chaucer school visited Durham Duplex, kindly hosted by Charles Turner MBE DL Managing Director and Immediate Past Master Cutler.
The visit began in the boardroom, where students met and listened to Dave Addis, Factory Manager, and Steve Corbett, CEO, who informed the students about what company’s operations and its history.

Dave then showed the students a vast range of their products, explaining what each one was used for. Next stop was a tour of the factory where students witnessed the machines in action and were excited to discover that one of Durham Duplex’s apprentices is a former Chaucer student. The students were amazed to see all the products and learn that the workers in the packing department individually package up to 70,000 razor blades a day each!
The students then returned to the boardroom for a Q&A session before departing back to school. Thank you to Charles and his team for hosting a great visit!
