December 10, 2024

On Monday 9th December 2024, the Master Cutler, Mr Philip Rodrigo and Chairman of the Cutlers’ Company Charitable Trust, Mr Kenneth Cooke presented the donations.
The two charities, B:Friend and Home Alone, attended Cutlers’ Hall to meet with the Master Cutler and receive the donations from the Cutlers’ Company Charitable Trust.
B:Friend works to reduce social isolation for the older generation, which helps to improve mental health and well-being. Although, they work all year round with the support from volunteers and organising social clubs the charity works to support individuals over the festive period. This Christmas, they will be supporting 200 over 65’s across the South Yorkshire region who have no friends or family to visit during Christmas.

Home Alone arranges a Christmas party for elderly people, who have no family or friends to celebrate with. The charity started in 2007, and over the years the number of attendees have grown from 87 to over 500. Without donations, Gloria would be unable to arrange and host this Christmas party.

The Cutlers’ Company has a proud tradition of supporting charitable causes in the South Yorkshire region, and we are honoured to continue this legacy through the Cutlers’ Company Charitable Trust. The Master Cutler & The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire are delighted to support these two charities for their hard work, especially during the festive season, in combating loneliness. Thank you for your dedication and invaluable support you provide to the communities during the Christmas period.
