INTERNATIONAL ENERGY PRODUCTS TAKES THE THIRTY-SEVENTH SPOT IN THE SUNDAY TIMES 100 TABLE

In this year’s prestigious rankings, Sheffield-based International Energy Products has secured the thirty-seventh spot in ‘The Sunday Times 100, Britain’s fastest-growing private companies’. The league table takes on the baton from The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 series, which celebrated the country’s leading entrepreneurs for 24 years.

The ‘Steel City’-based company is part of the wider International Group – a conglomerate of companies set up to offer an end-to-end turnkey solution from high-quality alloy supply to precision engineering and rigorous testing.

The business challenges of the last year have made trading conditions particularly tough. The rise of energy prices, geopolitical instability, and supply chain barriers have affected even the most established companies. Despite this, this year’s league table experienced an increase in competitiveness, with the pace of growth required to secure a place on the table dramatically increasing.

What makes International Energy Products place on the rankings even more impressive is the fact that the company was only set up in 2017. Since then, it has grown from strength to strength – engineering, manufacturing, and testing high-quality steel products for the energy and defence sectors – in part, reflecting market conditions.

This latest award adds to the growing list of accolades that CEO Emma Parkinson has under her belt. Her business acumen is recognised nationally, encompassing being previously a winner of the 2021 Natwest Everywoman Awards and recognised in the 2024 Telegraph & Natwest 100 Female Entrepreneurs to Watch.

Speaking on International Energy Products’ inclusion in the rankings, Emma Parkinson, said:

“It’s an honour to be included in The Times 100 rankings. It’s the result of seven years of hard work and dedication to UK manufacturing and engineering, and it couldn’t have been done without each and every one of our past and present team members.

We’re proud of what we do here. Steel is a foundational part of the UK economy – keeping the lights on in our cities, the buildings upright, and protecting our national security.

This moment marks a significant milestone in our journey but it’s far from our end destination. We’re looking forward to seeing our growth and success over the years and decades to come.”

According to Make UK’s UK Steel Charter, steel imports into the country total over 5.6m tonnes each year, often travelling far distances from regions around the world. Additionally, The UK government forecasts a requirement of 8.1Mt of steel over the coming decade for publicly procured projects. Pioneering companies such as International Energy Products are helping to develop localised supply chains, ultimately reducing CO2 emissions and driving jobs back into local communities.
