THE MASTER & MISTRESS CUTLER VISITED THE 72010 HENGIST – 13.02.24

On Tuesday 13th February 2024, The Master and Mistress Cutler visited the Standard Steam Locomotive Company, based at CTL Seals in Ecclesfield. During the visit, the Master & Mistress Cutler saw the progress on 72010 Hengist, a Clan class locomotive being constructed for use on the railways. They were able to gain valuable insight into the development and learnt the aim of the project is “to build a better Clan class locomotive, that retains the original aesthetic design, but greener and more powerful than its predecessors.”72010 Hengist Heritage.

They were delighted to visit this fascinating project building a trusted design using modern techniques and using specialist companies across the region like William Cook Castings, Owen Springs, Furness & White and CTI.
